My 5 y rold is running away/bolting nearly it seems pain related.Dentist has been out baby teeth extracted but canines are erupting or due to.Did anyone experience problems with their horse and canine teeth. Hes only just been backed so trying to cover all options if pain related ,everything else has been covered. If its not teeth then he has other backing related issues.

Yes, Shy had/has serious pain issues when he was/is teething. After seeing the vet and dentist, I started riding him in an english hackamore until he'd got thru the stage, and it worked out really well. :)

My horse had a canine erupt at the end of last year and it was a very drawn out process. I had the dentist out to him back in November because he was throwing his head about, napping and behaving very badly. Turned out this canine was erupting but, as the dentist explained, the gum in that area is particularly elasticky so as the tooth pushes down the gum stretches with it. The dentist had to make a little nick in the gum to relieve the pressure and that pretty much cured him over night. The tooth did take and age to come right down though.
If I was you I'd get you vet or dentist to have a look.
