i know its fairly rare, but believe me my horse is about as rare as they get!
She has had this cauliflower growth type thing come up in her front foot for a while, when ever it gets wet. In the summer when it came the vet cut it back and said it was a lump of proud flesh grown from an old injury so we quarterized it for a while and it stayed away until the rain came this time. A different vet saw it this time (now she has it in the same front foot and a back one) and told us he cant cut it away because it is too sore and that we need to harden it off first and cut the hard bits off ourselves. I am reading about it online and it sounds word perferct canker, should she not be doped and have it all cut back?? i am worried that although we are stopping it growing on the outside by applying iodine and hardening agents that it is still growing where we cant see on the inside and could soon be affecting internal structures??
Any experience with canker would be useful, thanks!
