Saturday morning my friend turned her horse out into a new field. The others in the field were fine. Hello who are you sort of thing. The neighbours were not so pleased to see him...he kicked out and caught his back foot in the electric fencing and now he's dead. We took him to the vets college and there was nothing they could do. He only had 40% of his tendon left and there was loads of infection and he lost loads of blood. It's not fair. He was a great big gentleman. I can still see his big trusting eyes looking at me when they took him away.
 
Oh that is soo horrible I hope you and your friend are okayy **huggs**

How awful, I hope you and his owners (and anyone else involved) are coming to terms with it. You're right, its not fair, but at least he is not in pain now.

I'm so sorry for to hear of this. I feel awful as I have just posted above about how happy I am. Big hugs to both you and your friend.
 
That's so sad, poor lad. I hope there are lots of people around who will give you and your friend big hugs.

Mine too, had a youngster that enede up with it tied round her leg, kept the wound clean but still ended up infected around a week later

- one week stay at the vets, several courses of IV antibiotics and she is fine....luckily she is a coloured with white legs so no scaring.

Your poor friend was very unlucky to lose her horse like this and to get such a bad infection in a short period of time. RIP
