Had the saddler out today for the fitting of a new dressage saddle. Budget was open as i wanted the 'right' saddle. Anyway couple of hours later have tried everything from Ideal to Passsier and nothing inspired me. As a last resort a Thorowgood T6 is grabbed out, much to the yards amusement, but i get on and WOW what a saddle, they have certainly changed since i rode in them years ago. Really comfortable but not too holding. And to top it all it's £450!

The snobbery didn't leave me completely though as i put an Albion saddle cover on it!

Bit worried i'm gonna get snubbed at affiliated events now

The saddle snobbery!!! When i got my GP saddle in the summer my budget went the other way. I ended up with a Jeffries High Wither Falcon Hawk (not the most expensive or posh one may i add) - flamin thoroughbreds lol! Love it though! You just have to go with whats best for you and your horse rather than the make, stuff everything else (including your bank balance)!!

Lucky you!!

aw, you're so lucky getting a nice saddle

if it's the right one for you and the horse, it doesn't matter if it's a 'cheap' make! (mine cost £250 new and its horrible and i can't afford to replace it with a nice one, so i can't really comment!

They are really great saddles aren't they? Thorowgood really have a fantastic range now, including leather ones.
