Hi

I have a hanoverian x TB who has been out of work for about a year. I got her a week ago and was previously being fed nothing in summer and chaff and nuts in the winter. She is quite overweight and has a bit of a grass belly!! I am bringing her back in to work so just need some tips on what to feed her so she can still build up muscle but not to put on weight and hopefully start to lose some.
I am in the UK
She doesn't seem to get fizzy but due to the TB in her non heating food is preferable.

Thanks!
Mia

I would use a forage balancer in a token low calorie feed. For example, Forage Plus Summer Balancer in a blob of Fast Fibre.

I second TwoStroke and would also add a small amount of full fat micronised linseed to add proteins and omega 3s while staying low starch. I think the Forage Plus balancer has salt but if going for a balancer without, you can add a tablespoon of table salt to her tea.
Personnally, I use a handfull of Topspec or Spillers high fibre cubes instead of Fast Fibre as my mare prefers cubes to a soaked feed. Other high specs supplements are ProBalance from ProEarth on e-bay and Metabalance from Equimins.
