well i've had my horse for nearly a year now and she can be lets say a bit quirky! she doesn't really like being at the back hacking but isnt confident to lead out but will happily lead home. I have only taking her to two local quiet events where she has behaved impeccably (she hasn't been anywhere before this) and now i cant decide whether to take her on hound exercise in sept. Not sure it if it will just blow her brains. I'm not the most confident of riders but I have been out on hound exercise before and loved it. I'm not too worried about her behaviour around other horse or the hounds but a bit worried by the quad bikes( she hates tractors and quads arent great either) I do think she will fly buck and gallop flat out but also think she will tire early and settle down. Aaagh what shall I do? It will be on my birthday too!

Please help me decide - will it help her grow up and become more confident?

Absolutely do it. I think it'll be the making of her. She'll probably be completely bewildered by it for the first couple of outings but I think it might sort out an awful lot of your issues and will definitely make her more forward thinking.

Put a red ribbon in her tail to stop people from getting too close if she's likely to kick out and speak to the Sec beforehand to explain that she's never been before. Or put a green ribbon in tail instead as then everyone will know.

Who are you going with?
