Seriously, I don't know what to do. At this rate I'm going to have to sacrifice two days of revision time during the week to ride, meaning he will get 4 days a week, with 3 off, is that enough for a 4yo in need of lots of circle/trot pole work (just had a growth spurt so gangly, strung out and on the forehand).

The girl who rode today is used to more riding school type horses, didn't realise that in a school with no fence you have to ride around the corners, and disappeared off down the yard. There's another coming tomorrow, but I'm not holding my hopes going by her last horse being 20.

Yuck, anyone know anyone needing a ride in the north east? It's even bloody free! Honestly, I can't GIVE him away!

I would, but that's the plan through winter, and I have only just brought him into work from having this winter off after backing!

Fjord - durham and 16hh.

Hanger - I guess, but I only get half an hour to ride. But that makes me feel better, I have been told I need to start exercising him more as he's not progressing enough (which is true, sometimes we even go backwards).

Sorry, I'm really struggling to understand the point of this comment? What bearing does this have on her ability to ride your 4 year old?

I was assuming that it was her only (and first) horse, and therefore less likely to be similar to how a 4 year old rides.

However, I am/was aware that some 20year olds are mad, and some 4 year olds safe and sane, so that is hwy i allowed her to come, so no need for the cattyness

Anyway she came, and she was excellent, had a lot of training in classical dressage and very compassionate towards the horse, I asked 'trick' questions, and she passed them all

The only problem is she is German, and sometimes communication is a problem, so I'm having to tone down my northern accent and sayings!

Alls well'ends well, and everything (assuming she does decide she wants the ride).
