My new share horse needs a new head collar, and I'm struggling to get a head collar to fit her. I've tried a bigger pony size cottage craft head collar on her and it was obviously too small! Tried a Premier Equine Cob and it was also too small, then I tried a full size one on her (the Horseware Newmarket head collar), and it was perfect with the nose band but far too big around the throat and ears! She's 15.2hh so was just wondering what size you guys would recommend in terms of what size/head collar brand to get!

Here's a photo of her so you can see what her size is like!

Can't see the pic but both my ladies who I'm guessing are a similar size head to yours wear cob sized. Track down those with a buckle on the nose too, and have a look at shires headcollars. They tend to be fairly true to size.

Either that or as you try headcollars, stick to the same make as you increase the size rather than jumping makes which you may find (as you have!) that technically nothing fits as they're all slightly different size wise.

My 15.3 has wierd head proportions too haha, I got him a leather one from a stall at a show which has buckles each side of the head and also on the nose part so fully adjustable! Was £25 and has lasted ages :)

My 15hh girl wears non-brand cob size which has buckles on the noseband and head piece. Think they were about a fiver each from eBay!

That's a reason why I loved the cottage craft one, but my local tack shop didn't have any cob size in it as it has buckles on the nose and both sides of the head, I like to be able to see the head collar in size so I can make a decision... but thanks guys! I will look for a cob head collar which is fully adjustable!! Do you have any favourites?

Cottage Craft do nice full adjustable headcollars ie nose, headpiece and throat lash. My 14.2 wears a full size Loveson leather headcollar quite comfortably. ETS sorry didn't fully read your last post OP about Cottage Craft. Have a look on EBay for some fully adjustable ones.

My favourite headcollar is a rolled and plaited leather headcollar from horse health. I save it for best. Day to day I use shires nylon headcollars as they come in a range of colours and they're adjustable on nose. I think my big lad had a Roma headcollar which was lovely too.

My 15.2 TB is in a cob size km elite - lots of great colours and they are really adjustable (my 14.2 Connie is also in a cob). The eskadron ones are also good (again cob size).
