At the hunter trial I went to yesterday (see my other post) I came across this lady while doing my entries.
The above title is what I heard first. Turns out she has a 11.3hh mare for sale / loan / free to good home and has been struggling to 'get rid'. She has too many horses and this pony 'has to go'. So, being nosey I ask more about said pony. Conversation went something like this;

Me; Hi, tell me more about the pony
Her; What would you like to know
Me; Mare, right?
Her; Yeah, a lovely little 11.3hh black mare. I simply don't have room for her anymore. She must go. I'd even give her away.
Me; How old?
Her; 15, a great PC pony, loves hunting. Lovely jump.
Me; Sounds like a good sort, will she do lead rein?
Her; Oh yes, she is very good. Has taught many children.
Me; I'll take your number and have a think.
Her; Great. Oh, by the way, pony doesn't like to do showing, she rears.

*Thinking - oh how fantastic, a pony who rears, very suitable for children then!!*

I guess honesty is great, but for this reason Iam not surprised the pony hasn't got a new home yet. Iam sure there is a lovely little rider out there who only wants to hunt, and go fast.
Good luck to her!

Is it only at shows she rears though? If so, then I'm sure there's a kid wanting a pony just to have for fun with no competing or companion home there somewhere :)

But good luck too :)
