Can't understand by no one has been.............

Its nearly christmas and its winter... not to mention the credit crunch thing. Not really the most optimum time to sell. Am sure he is a great horse and the right buyer will come along soon.

aww i'v viewed your previos posts i think he looks like a wee toot, he is very reasonably priced perhaps like you say maybe to cheap and folk are being overly suspicious? i would have been keen had i been in the position to get another right now hopefully this time next yr i'll need/want another project and i wont be looking to spend much he would be the like of what i'm looking for, so all is not lost maybe after xmas you will have more interest good luck with him x

Having read the ad, this is what jumps out at me:

1. It's too wordy - I think peopleget bored trying to sort the wheat from the chaff on such a long description.

2. Vets Cert June 09 - this to me says this is when you bought him, he has also been at sales livery long enough to lose condition (which I know doesn't take long with a TB) and has been out of work for at least 2 months. That reads to me like you've bought him, don't like him, sent him to sales livery, he's come back and not been worked .... all in the space of less than 6 months. Just sounds really dodgy sorry.

I'm sorry but I also thought he looked unsound...

Other than that, it's a bad, bad time of year. Mine has been for sale for 5 weeks now with only totally unsuitable people calling: http://www.horsehunter.co.uk/REDUCED-153hh-TB-p-54881.htm Perhaps I'm being too honest but I'd rather not waste anyone's time.

I'm resigned to the fact he won't sell until the new year, hopefully you'll have more luck than me!

looks a nice type. didnt watch video, but its a bad time of year to be selling .... just before christmas, winter and credit crunch. the wording could be a bit more positive on his virtues and less on the light weight, lack of work etc. could you not find either someone local to help get him going a bit more or a sharer? to get you through to spring? Good luck

Bless him. What a shame you can't keep him, he looks like a very special lad who would benefit from a long term home.

I'm not convinced he's right behind (if I'm honest).

Good luck with selling him, though. And perhaps you'll have more luck in the spring???

My honest oppinion (please don't take this the wrong way), the pictures of him doing flatwork put me off (the two trotting ones). Neither of them is brilliant, in one he looks tight in the neck, in the other you have just caught him on a bad stride so it's not very flattering, so i would remove both of these! If you can't get a really good flatwork pic I wouldn't bother putting one up at all, just show one of him stood up in his tack with someone on him to show he can be ridden. Also in the first pic of the lady stroking his neck he looks a bit worried and the rider looks like she's trying to reassure him, which might put people off! The one in the school and the jumping pic are quite nice. Maybe try to get a good sideways on confo shot of him untacked. He looks to me like he has an odd shaped neck? The advert is worded well, so I think if you changed the photos a bit then you'd get more people calling up and hopefully more wanting to come and see him. Goodluck

Hope this helped and that I don't sound too critical.

I have to say as well, I always google phone no's and the ad says too much for your novice daughter(f I read it right) and yet you appear to produce young horses which would worry me.
Also no explanation for why he has been out of work? I think if he was sound it would be a good price and all

He look sweet enough.

I'd re-word the advert and take the video off. Personally I don't think you're riding him forward enough hence the lameness comments.

The fact that you state he is too much for your novice daughter, and that he needs an experienced sympathetic rider would put many off, also he is a ten year old. He should be established at that age surely? You are obviously selling him in preference to selling your others so I guess he is not something you want to keep, that the fact that he is very cheap also points to a problem. I agree the flatwork pics are not flattering and he does lookstight in the neck.
All these things add up to people not being too keen to view I would say. Not seen the video so cant say anything about soundness.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe what some of you have said! It also shows me how photos and videos can give the wrong impression!!
Right where do I start.........when I manage to close my mouth. My daughter purchased Albert from Acorn Sport Horses in Ireland, the same place I purchased my Pheobe from. As Pheobe is an absolute star, my daughter decided that she would go back to the same place. We trusted Acorn when we told them what we were looking for when they suggested Albert. We were about to fly over and when my daughter said she didn't feel lthe need as Pheobe was brilliant. Albert arrived at the beginning of June having passed the vet(apart from the splint) but within a few days I knew he wasn't right for her, Acorn said they would take him back but daughter wanted to try. 7 weeks later she knew herself that he was too much for her but Acorn wouldn't take him back then so I recommend she sent him to someone that I thought I could trust. He was there for a month, person said he would school him and get him ready for sale, daughter rang twice a week. One day my friend went up to the yard and saw him in that state, daughter away. I had to go rescue the poor horse, person wouldn't answer my calls. Apparently he was unrugged in a field with NO grass and NO haylage!! He has been with me since the 14th October as some of you may remember my posts. He has gained weight and I have just started to ride him. I am NOT a rogue and the above story is absolutely true!!!!!!!!!! I don't tell lies!
Albert is NOT lame, he was just struggling with the very slippy ground. I challenge anyone to come see him and tell me he is lame.
With reference to someone saying I produce young horses, I don't! Here, check my web site out and you will find it is just a personal one for my OWN horses. I do web design and all the metatags etc I placed in the HTML code are there to attract visitors as I am so very proud of Pheobe and Emma.
I cannot believe how I have been made to feel!
I posted on here for a little advice not to be made to feel like a dishonest person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he's nice but tbh if I were looking and saw the vid it would put me off. might just be the slippy paddock but horse isnt being shown off to best advantage IMHO. also, bad time of year to sell a horse!

I can't speak for anyone else but I certainly wasn't trying to belittle you. You wanted to know why nobody has been to see him, so of course people were picking fault with the ad. And he doesn't look level - if that's because of the ground, then get a better vid. It's an advert, not a popularity contest. Someone even said above that they were interested until they saw the vid.

If you didn't want to hear the reasons that people may have been put off then perhaps you shouldn't have posted asking.

I certainly wasn't inferring that you were dishonest. I merely posted in response to your question on why no one's perhaps been to look at him.

You have an advert, which contains a video, available for public viewing. To me he looks suspect behind in that video, sorry but that is my opinion.

My overall feeling when looking at the video and photos was that this animal looks as if he deserves a long term (if not final) home. Read in to that what you will

My intention was certainly not in any way to accuse you of being dishonest. I just commented on the horse.

.

I don't think people were saying you're not honest .

They've just pointed to what might not add up in the advert and confuse other people who don't know you from here.

He looks a nice sort, good luck!

Oh dear

I never usually answer these 'pick my ad apart posts' ..... I don't think I'll bother again after that reaction

.

Sorry you feel aggrieved, I don't think anybody has called you dishonest though, they've just told it as they've seen it.

OP You asked for advice and that is what you got.

I would remove the vid link from the ad now you have removed it from youtube though, as i think that looks a bit suspicious if you didn't know why it had been removed (which your ad readers wont).

I think you might struggle with it being winter and he looks like he needs a fair bit of work on him, although he does sound sweet.

Price is very attractive, but maybe a bit too attractive to the wrong sorts of people if you know what i mean.

Sorry-you asked. I'm telling you what I, a potential buyer see!
And I'm afraid I don't buy the slippy ground arguement... there is something not right.
