Just wondering if anyone has any exercises/tips for helping getting my youngster (5yrs) to canter off the right lead?
He does it every time correctly on the left rein but then struggles on the right. Towards the end of the summer/october I'd pretty much cracked it with him & he was going correctly on both reins, but then he had some time off (sore back, all sorted now) & since then the grounds been so bad that when we school (set of markers in a field) it's only really been in walk and trot and on hacks I haven't really been checking which leg he's been going off. He's coming along brilliantly with everything else in walk and trot, engaging his hindquarters, independently coming into an outline, bending well ect... he's doing his first dressage comp on sunday a nice little intro test
I don't think it's something I'm doing (will get my instructor to check).
Sorry it's so long!!
