Hi, at the start of the year, one of my youngsters was amazing, she was schooled well with me as she was ridden everyday, give or take a day off. However, we went to badminton for 4 dayds and i hadden ridden her a day before so thats 5 days in total with out ridding and her canter has gone all on the forehand again, and shes got her hear fairly low and leans when i try to pick her up into my hands and seat. I bought a hanging cheek snaffle in badminton for her and she goes fab in it out hacking, and only leans slightly when we are jumping and schooling, but it is stil a problem. I cant get her up off my hands and going uhill and forwards any more!
its also affecting our jumping, she used to have a lovely canter and scope going towards a jump( a bit too much scope) but now shes got her head down, riding down hill and shes not helping me at all with the striding, im having a terrible time coming in nicly to it and tidilly!!
please recommend some exercises i could try with her later on thank you!
p.s she has been checked over etc. Just lack off continuous riding.

could try a hanging cheek snaffle with the spinning bits on them (can't describe them!) so she can't hang on it. could also use the top ring of a bubble gag so it has loose ring action and stops her haging as well

Thanks, i can just about handle her leaning in a hanging cheek snaffle, its just we are so down hill when school in canter and doing transiitons into canter, expecially going towards a jump.
thanks for the recommendation xx
any more info greatly welcome

canter poles, maybe using those pole pods to raise a few. going into canter over a pole so she lifts her feet. using a placing pole going into canter and grids with little bounces so she sits on her backside going into the fence

ah thanks il try that, so try like little cavalettis going into canter or poles, grid work. ok il try that.
only one other thing, how can i get her raising her pole a bit, me bring clever, when we bought her her head was high and yew necked so i got her in a long and low outline, cant get the bloody thing ip to my hand now and raising her pole!
any tips or exercises for engaging her more and making her go forward into the bit, raising her poll?
thanks aain xxx
