Capped hocks... do they effect the horse?

Do they stop the horse physically when recovered and do they get marked down in showing etc

I've never come across a capped hock that has affected a horse's soundness and I've seen them go down a lot once a horse has had a decent bed

I expect you would get marked down for showing.

As PF hun - probably be marked down for showing but the horse should make a good recovery on a nice deep bed. The most common reason for capped hocks is horses having to lie down on concrete or similar. I wouldn't want to make a habit of it!

yeah well I think she got it from last winter when her owner didnt put much straw down for her... and i dont think he treated it, just left it so its now perminent

Nope, doesn't usually affect them accept for appearances which can mark them down when showing.
