Capped Hocks

A friend sold a 4 year old recently and is still in contact with the buyer, she intends to show it and do some Working Hunter with it!
She is entered for Dublin Horse Show in two weeks time and is both showing and jumping at it!
However the other day the horse managed to cap both its hocks quite badly in the stable
Is DMSO allowed anymore?
If so she was told by someone to apply it once daily will this affect the hock before the class or what else would anyone suggest?

Could the vets drain the fluid and put in a bit of steroid?? Good luck

Draining or bandaging can help temporarily - bandaging a hock can be tricky, but I've seen it work (if it's done for a couple of days before the show and the night before)
