Captain Barnacles - First weigh in!

Just been for Barneys second vaccinations appt....

Two weeks ago he weighed 12.3kg and looked like this

Today he weighed 11.9kg and looks like this!

So he's lost 400g in 14 days which isn't masses but it's a start and he's going in the right direction, although I imagine around 100g of that was the testicles he had removed last week I don't see a great difference in the pictures but he is much fitter and a lady at the park who I haven't seen for a week commented that he is looking much better.

Definitely better! What weight are you aiming for?

I'm not quite sure yet, recommended weight for a cav is 5-8kgs but he is an inch over height so I think around 9kg? I guess just when he looks healthy and I don't feel the need to tell people he's a rescue and I don't usually have fat dogs!!

Hah, sounds like a good plan I think Henry's rate of weight loss was about 200g a week or maybe a little less, so 400g in a fortnight sounds ok to me

Well done, keep on going He's lovely, our CKCS looks very similar to him, apart from Harvey is totally the opposite, he's really slim - he does get fed haha. He's just naturally small and doesn't like eating - i think he takes after me Good luck with his weight loss, he's looking better already

Good job, saw a huge one at the vet yesterday, just a little head and a giant blob attached poor bugger!

Well, he weighed 22.5kg when I got him and looked like this:

He now weighs in between 16 and 17kg

This is my mums cav ben, he is v Big for a cav, and weighs about 11.5kg but is about perfect

Ill get one of my dads one later he is very thin but still weighs over 11kg
