Best car boot liners for two labs who regularly swim and get very muddy. I have looked online and found expensive ones for make of car and also cheap 'universal' ones. Any one had experiences of either?
We have carbox ones which fit the particular make, handy for three wet and muddy springers. They're definitely worth it as they completely cover and protect the boot. The only thing they don't protect is the rubber seal/boot lip when the dogs jump in.
I have a universal one from Towsure and it's fabulous. The sides are really deep so cover all of the boot space and the Velcro isn't shabby rubbish and has never shifted. It also has a bumper guard flap thingy as well.
I have a cursory look underneath it every time I vacuum the boot but it's still spotless underneath so I don't move it. All the dust and hair just gathers on the top of it. Best fifteen quid I spent in a long while!! I do also have a piece of carpet on top of it but that's because I drive a lease car and can't afford to have any damage to the car at all (I'm overly paranoid).
There is a Towsure shop fairly local to me but I believe they also do online sales as well.
I have a 'Boot Buddy' Versaliner. Each one is made to measure and rigid. Easy to wipe clean, easy to remove etc. Very impressed with it, and would definitely recommend. Perfect for our lab who has similar tendencies.
I made one for a mate who had a large 4x4 with Springers & Labs in the back.I had a bumper guard on it to protect the boot lip where the scramble in. Try asking your local Saddler if they can knock one up, I used heavy weight Cordura (outdoor rug material) but you can use lorry cover, canvas etc
Materials I used cost about £15.
