Looking for wisdom! I have a small car (Seat Leon) and need to bring my saddle, bridle, saddlepad, Equitex half pad etc up to the yard with me everytime I go. My car boot is an absolute disaster and so is the back seat!

Wondering if anyone had any good ideas for saddle stands or organisers. I currently have one of the Stubbs Saddle Mates but it’s very bulky. I have a dressage saddle too which further complicates matters! All wisdom welcome!

If you don't use your back seats for people can you fold them, or one/two of them down to give you more room for the Saddle Mate? Or just transport the saddle in the back seat stood up with the seat against the car seat back. Then there might be enough room in the boot for all the rest, possibly in a large plastic crate so you can lift it all out in one go.

I used to run a piece of baling twine from front headrest to back headrest, and hang a saddle on that. It was only for taking a saddle home for cleaning occasionally, so I didn't use anything fancier, but for longer term, you can run the twine through a piece of pipe, and cover with a pool noodle.

Then a hook for a bridle hanging from the other metal piece of the front seat headrest, so bridle hangs down into footwell, and room under the saddle for other bits and bobs. The advantage of this setup is that it works even if you have all sorts of other things taking up the actual seat space, and you can fit 2 saddles - one behind each seat. Probably 3 if you run a diagonal string!

They do also make all sorts of premade and rigid saddle racks for headrests that stick out from headrests without needing a second attachment point, ranging from $$$ to fairly cheap, if it absolutely must be in the boot (only works if you have a hatchback, though).

I like to try to squeeze it into the boot under the parcel shelf so it’s hidden for if I stop at the supermarket on my way home is the only thing. Crate is a good shout though!
