Car Insurence

I am looking into buying a car for when I pass my test.
But first I want to lookin into the price of insuring a car before I decide what style of car to get, but every insurence site i go onto requires the registration and modle details, but I don't know them obviously! Does anyone know of any websites which would let me pic a random make of car so I can get an estimated quote.

Its better to call them - thats what I did before I got my recent car, that way you do not need to give them a reg number.

I found Virgin to be the best. I have a 1.6 Tigra coupe and I am 26 with my old insurance I was paying £56 a month and now I am with Virgin I pay £26 a month
