What do you think of it? - I'm thinking of getting some delivered and want to be sure before ordering as I will have to buy quite a lot of it!

I tried it a few years ago and remember thinking it was ok, but now shavings are so expensive am thinking of alternatives.

If you went on to it from another bedding ie shavings, did you completely run your shavings beds down before laying the cardboard bed down or did you mix it in gradually?.

Also if any of you have allergies ie Rhinitis and Hayfever etc has it helped you?

Many thanks in advance for your help/feedback!

Is this eco-bed?

have you had a smaple of it? and what did you think?

my OH got a sample of it in the other day thinking it would be nice shredded/chipped cardboard that she would split a pallet with her boss who runs 10 huskies. When the sample turned up it was just corrugated cardboard in small 1cm square lumps.

we wernt very impressed.

We now use megazorb which is absolutely fantastic. once you get over the fact it looks like the stable is full of cat litter it soaks up far better than anything we have tried so far and for our very messy gelding it is positively easy to muck out now.

Hi, Thanks for the reply!- no it's not Eco Bed as we're in Sussex and when I phoned them previously they couldnt deliver to us.

I haven't had a sample of the stuff from the supplier that I've found however I do know that it is shredded and not diced, I'm guessing it must be fairly ok stuff as they supply it to some local horse vets/colleges. I received a sample from another manufacturer of the bedding -and I know what you mean about the sample of bedding you received!-I laughed when I looked at it because it looked like someone had just cut a brown cardboard box to bits with a pair of scissors!!

I will give it a go and see how we get on as it is a good price and saving me approx nearly 3pounds abale when compared to shavings!- if not maybe I'll give the megazorb a go !

The cardboard I tried a few years ago I think was Finacard which I can't find anywhere!....

Thanks again for the info!

I have just started changing over from shavings to shredded cardboard and so far so good. I removed all of the shavings first as I thought it would be messy using a mixture. I have one stable that doesnt have rubbermats and 2 that do on the cardboard at the moment and it is very like the large flake shavings to work with. I'm using it less than a week so I still haven't quite made up my mind, but it's definetly better than shredded paper!

That's interesting- many thanks for the info- shredded cardboard seems to be the one to try then! and as you say probably better to start with fresh beds rather than mixing it in.

Thanks again!
