cardboard bedding

Yup, one of the horses I used to look after was bedded on it - I really liked it (I like paper as well)

Found it easy to muck out, doesnt blow out of your barrow in wind like paper does and is really clean.
I would certainly use it again.

My friend used to use it and i thought it was horrible!!

I loved using paper until i had a horse that pee'd alot and boxwalked- that was a nightmare!

But i found with the cardboard that if your horse kicks it's poo about it is a nightmare to sort through as the cardboard kind of lays in layers and the poo gets stuck between them.

Yes been using it 18months

Chopped corrugated cardboard, cheaper and warmer than shavings, my cats curl up and sleep in it--never saw them in shavings bed
I find it easier to muck out than shavings
Think it is more likely to be made to sell to a fairly local market like paper bedding
Enquire through recycling at local council--what happens to cardboard?
Grew potatoes in first lot of compost--it rots very quickly, good crop
