Career advice- Any Building Surveyors out there? or similar roles?

Does anyone have any career advice? I'm coming to the end of my equine BSc and am looking into a non-cognate MSc in Building surveying. I'm looking for any real experiences- there's only so much you can learn from Google and obviously the universities offering the courses are biased.

I've been contacting individuals too but wondered if there are any equestrians who know much about it? (especially those based in south/south-east England?)

I'm looking for a career that offers development opportunities, pay to support myself and my own horse (with time), and a chance to get out of the office. Other suggestions are welcome!

Feel I'm up the creek without a paddle! As I'm sure many students do...

I’m a surveyor. I used to work in a more corporate based, office role as a Development Surveyor and was desperate to get out of the office after a few years. I got a new job last year as a Residential Valuer which lets me manage my own diary and I’m out of the ‘office’ (home/tack room) much more. This winter has been 1,000x easier!!
