You need to show her the body condition chart. Is she on a livery yard? Losing interest is no reason to keep an animal in that condition. Well done for pointing it out.

She isn't bothered, just shrugs and complains that I'm having a go for no reason. We're on a yard but it's only me and my 2 sisters on there, my other one is helping me as best as she can.

I can't see the point of not monitoring at least monthly, better still weekly. Is your horse at the same yard? How could the water get into that disgusting state with no-one noticing before now, if you are all on the same yard?

Not saying it's not easily done, she'll be weighed more often now so I can keep a close eye on her. She's been booked in with my 2 veterans for a more accurate weight on the weighbridge.

It's an automatic drinker in the corner of her stable, they are big stables. I fetch her in everyday, as my sister being her owner for the past 23 years.. I assumed basic stuff like that was being done..
