Hi, Divvy question maybe...

Are the Carl Hester reins Dressage legal or are they classed as a training aid?

Hopefully someone here will know otherwise I'll contact BD.

Thanks

No they're not legal as they are classed as a training aid, but very good for teaching novices to feel and youngsters to accept a softer contact!

So long as you ride with your seat and legs first then no they cant lean, I find them superb for when I am teaching novices that can't 'feel' how to give or reward but after a few sessions I usually replace them with ordinary reins and the rider continues to give as if the elastic ones are still on. I use them to start off my youngsters and again after a few schooling sessions they are working in a lovely baby outline without stress.
