Sitting here watching Royal Ascot, I remember back in the 70's I worked for a chap who took a coach and four to Ascot every day, we drove down behind the Queen's contingent and parked up for the day up past the winning post, the horses spending the day at the racecourse stables. There were 3 or 4 park drags (coaches) doing this each day.
Does anyone else remember this? Do they still do it today?
It was a lovely week, the only downside was walking round in hunting boots and tail coat each day when it was really hot!
