Damned if I'm going to fork out for a carrot stick!
I've found that the 1.5m of bamboo cane with a nice squidgy ball of elastic bands on one end has worked just as well!
Anything with a flicky end is a no go with the horse it's being used with, but it's worked a treat for pushing her out into a circle when lunging, or away in the field. It also makes a nice 'doi-ng' sound when bounced off an empty water drum in the field when she's trying to mince something/ one!
