They are $8 here for a 50kg bag.

I don't however use carrots for my horses - way too much sugar for them and hardly any of mine like them or know what to do with them anyway.

Gosh...I didnt realise carrots had a high sugar content!!!?? Ooops - my boy has a carrot addiction...or maybe he is, in fact, addicted to sugar!!

There's a bloke down my yard that "gets rid of our birds in rafters of stable issues" and he always has a pocket full of sugar lumps - Fin usual puts on his *oh look at me.....my mum starves me....you dont happen to have anything edible in your bulging pockets do you!?*

Oh and to actually answer the question!!!*ooops* I think bags round here are around 3 quid but i usually just get Fin value ones from Sainsburys. (Or Waitrose if I'm feeling generous

You can shoot them but then the buggers relatives just move in!! We have ours shot every year and within a month they have been replaced!

I am buying a small calibre rifle soon so that I can shoot them myself and not have to pay someone else to come in at their convenience.

Sugar does give horses a "buzz" and definitely have addictive qualities for horses. Try feeding swedes instead - they only have about a quarter of the sugar content of carrots.

LMAO I wish my horse would sleep on all 10 of the things, instead they have to put up with me screaming at or throwing brushes at them!

I know!!!

I felt really bad for laughing but I think it was the shock of it!

I threw it out thinking it was a hard poo...and with closer investigation saw it had a little beak etc
frown.gif
....and I KNOW even Fin's fab poos dont have faces.

Poor thing. Imagine being compressed by a 600kgs hairy animal!

Well just be thankful you dont have a whole family of flippin pigeons nesting on your balcony
mad.gif

They're so noisy and have taken to sitting on the railing staring in at me - they make me feel really uncomfortable like I'm invading their privacy or something!?

In the summer I left the doors to the balcony open when I went out and came back to feathers and pooo EVERYWHERE.

£1 a bag from the feed merchant. I have a family of swallows nesting in Ludo's stable every summer - which isn't too bad normally as he's out in the field in the summer, but this year he was on box rest and I had to pick the dried poop off his back on a daily basis! I don't mind, and watching the little babies learning to fly is fun but my friend on the yard had a severe bird phobia and if she has to muck out for me dashes in and out of the stable like a woman possessed!!

I don't use enough to warrant a big bag as they go mouldy. I buy the cheap misshapes ones from Sainsbury's and they are about 35p for a small bag. Failing that I'll nick some out of my dad's veg store

I'm glad it's not just mine. Herbie can't stand carrots, I thought he was unique!
