Do people carry water inside their trailer? I always put my container in the car as worry it's not safe in the trailer with nowhere to secure it (Ifor 506).

The old Ifors have a good place on the front of the trailer, I've seen people bungie tie them there, or some really nifty retro fitted brackets above the back wheel arches, but again, nowhere on the recent model. Need ideas for more space in my car!!

Not going to help as I put mine in the car too, I have 511 and would need to fit some brackets or something to secure to. As I have nil DIY skills not going to happen. Interested what other people do.

I have a 511 and do put jerry cans of water in my trailer if necessary.

I use bungee straps and webbing straps to secure, but agree that it was easier in the 510 :)

I just have them sitting in the front of the trailer. Unless you roll it (!), where are they going to go!

(And if you do, a bungee isn't going to stop a water canister flying around anyway).

We bungee a 10 gallon Jerry under the window at the front. As Ffion says it probably won't shift anyway - hard braking / a sudden stop sends things forward not back and I would defy anyone to accelerate hard enough to tip 10 gallons of water whilst still towing a trailer. If you roll a bungee won't hold it - although a loose water container would be the last of your worries anyway.

I always used to put water into the nose area of the trailer in either a pair of jerry cans or a single large container, I used to be able to strap them to body but i'm not sure if there are any convenient attachment points in the 506/511 but you should be able to in the 505. You could always pop rivet a fixture to one of the beams.
I do seem to remember there being concerns around putting too much weight in the nose of the trailer, as the trailer is balanced for the load to be above the axles, but I think you'd have to put a lot of weight there for it to be an issue
