Cast shoe wrecks weekend!

My kids were due to go to their 1st XC event tomorrow. But today our pony cast a shoe - they were only put on on Tuesday and this is the first time he has been ridden since! Grrrr - v annoyed! Girls both upset and disappointed.

That's a shame, will there not be a farrier at the event?

No, no farrier at the event and my farrier won't come out on a saturday afternoon - so no XC tomorrow - oh well I can get a lie-in in the morning instead!

Well I hope he replaces shoe free of charge for you!

Ditto with threeponies.... hope he do it free!! I'D go mad if i had to pay!! if it keeps falling off change the farrier.... I did with my TB... his shoes used to fall off every fornight until i changed farrier.....

I'm hoping so too. Today i cycled round the bridlepath to find the shoe - and did find it!

The farrier is coming on Tuesday to shoe 2 other horses so I hope he will put it back on and not charge me!
