Castle got himself a bit injured

Went this morning to check up on Castle (he was turned out last night as it was quite warm), as I do every morning, and his muzzle was covered in blood, and he didn't gallop over to me as he would usually

On closer inspection he had a bad enough cut on one of his hind legs and on one of his forelegs

I had to ask Dad to clean him up, as I had some important exams today, I was worried all through the day, luckily I had a half day and headed straight to him. Dad had put him in his stable, and he wasn't perky as him usual self. I put him out in his field as he would be seriously bored in his stable, has perked up about eating grass, but I have absolutely no idea how he managed to do this to himself

It wasn't from wire as there was electric tape on all around, maybe from a tree or something, but I still have no idea

Sorry I had to let it out, just feel so sorry for my poor chap

I've never had something like this happen to him, and tbh I'm no longer excited about new chap coming at weekend

Give him extra love and cuddles. It's good that he's out grazing now - nothing cheers ponies up as much as standing in a big field of food!

You're getting guilt feelings with the new one coming. Calm down - you have enough love for both of them!

Sorry to hear about Castle, but am sure he will feel alot better soon. Horses do the most random things to themselves!

Does that mean new horse has passed vetting?!

Poor C hope he is feeling a bit better if he is anything like P the thought of grass will perk him up a bit

Just amake sure you have a good check around the field & try and locate the source of it all; best to eliminate it if at all possible before putting him back out again;

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. Lou, we've put him in the small paddock for the time being, can't take the risk of putting him in there again for the time

KatB - New lad passed the scoping and flexion tests, he just has a slight whistling noise that the vet isn't worried about, but to cover himself can't pass him. His heart, wind, and legs are all fine though, and it is a risk I'm prepared to take, as I do like him a lot and it's never affected him with his current owner.

Poor Castle, what has he been up to?? Mine came in with a cut on his back 3 inches long the other day?? how?? but it did heal - but it makes you worry. Hope Castle is a good patient and recovers with healing vibes coming your way..<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>> ditto lots of piccies of new chappie.....
