Hey all!

Anyone been here before? Me and two friends have just booked a riding weekend here in 2 weeks! So excited I cant wait and wondered if anyone had any experiences of it?

Thanks!

I last went about two years ago and had a brilliant time, although I was only there two days, so just one cross country ride. Its wasn't super posh, TB type horses, more typically Irish hard working slightly hairy types and some of the tack could have done with a clean, but staff lovely and friendly. I was given a 14hh pony who I initially thought was way too small for me, but he was a real pocket rocket and we jumped some super xc fences. There was a huge range of fences, again, not all brand new or shiny but more than adequate. There was only 5 of us out, and although the group was a bit mixed in ability, even the one lady who didn't want to jump seemed happy. I think I jumped 35- 40 fences that afternoon!

When I was in year before last some people went to go ride the XC course, I've not a clue why i didn't go, but they all came back having loved it. It was only for a day, but riding in Ireland is amazing anyway!!! haha

Went there couple of years ago, it was short notice so only got to ride the once. When I saw my horse I almost felt sorry for him, not the big 16.2 I would be used to, but turned out to be a pro once he knew I wanted him over the fences not round them (in other words, not a complete robot but well capable, which is totally fair enough, it didnt take long to figure each other out).

Lovely stables great XC course plenty of fences, good food.

Book as many riding sessions as you can, its great fun!

Brilliant! Thanks for the feedback guys, we are going for 4 days and have booked 3 hours each day, inc XC lesson indoors, XC outdoors x2, flat hack inc gallops, jumping hack and whatever we enjoyed most on the Sunday!

Super excited!

We went last year - I think - and stayed in the castle. The food was delicious, but the room was actually kind of dusty, which isn't good as I have allergies.

The XC course is fun fun fun; I rode a big horse called Blue over it, who was a pro and so I enjoyed it a lot.

Take a rain-coat...along with your BP and hat, of course!
