We have had 2 kittens, now 3 months old, for about 3 weeks. Came from friend with farm.
we also have an older cat ( who currently hates the kittens!). She is 5 and up to date with vaccinations.
Female kitten has an eye infection, but vet was concerned it maybe cat flu as she was also showing signs of sneezing. The eye has a wound to the third eye lid, so symptoms of conjunctivitis fit with that.
However, the kitten is not her self. She is quiet, and sleeping more, but is eating ok.
Both kittens had their first flu jabs about 10 days ago.
Eye started to be bad 2 days ago. So far, other kitten unaffected.
Has anyone had any experience of cat flu in kittens, both symptoms and outcome?

It's probably a calici virus. A course of antibiotics and topical eye cream will fix her up. Vet tomorrow all better in a week I would think.

Cat flu can and does kill vulnerable kittens, it also has a dormant stage
You need to get to the vet asap to give them the best chance and to receive antibiotics to help them, also need watching to make sure they get enough fluids and food.

Was the vaccination a live virus? kittens often do get a bit under the weather after these as you are effectively giving them a small dose of the disease so your kitten will react to it and develop immunity. Part of the reaction Can include showing symptoms of the disease you vaccinated against (cat flu/enteritis) However, some kittens are more sensitive to the virus than others so I would advise speaking to your vet if you are worried.
