Where can i get cat lifetime cover say for 4-7k vet fees per year?
and excess being about 50-75 per claim.
im seeing places want about £10 per cat a month (i have 2 to insure so any multi- insure ones?)
ive looked at, pet insurers online, homebase, pets at home, petplan, argos... etc..
btw both have been neutured and are chipped.
thanks for any help :D

Why?

There is a big uproar about insurers giving up lifetime policies for pets at the moment and £120 per year will cover most conditions an indoor cat is likely to need treatment for.

I have six cats ATM - all indoor & the oldest is 12 (I lost two 19 year olds in the last two years) I have only had one non routine vets bill and that was a dental for a 16 years old -£120 two years ago.

I pay about £11 per month each for my two cats with Petplan. I did get a bit of a discount for having two insured (down from about £14 each I think).

None of our three previous cats were insured, and luckily none needed major or long term vet attention, but the last one possibly would have done had she survived her last operation. :(

I figure that £120 a year is only £1200 over a decade, and if one of them develops something like diabetes you can easily run up a bill that large in a matter of weeks. I'd hate it if I were faced with a situation in which one of mine needed treatment that I couldn't afford, and I had to have them pts as a result.

TBH, OH and I had a long chat today, and we are cancelling our cats insurance. We have 5 cats, the oldest is 12, youngest is 7, and our premium has just gone up to £78 per month with an excess of £75. I think over the last 12 years, we have only claimed for one of the cats once, and after excess etc, we only got back about £50. It just doesn't seem worth it really.

Give Direct Line a ring. I believe they will insure for the lifetime of the cat. I have an excess of £70.

I'm with Tesco, pay £11 per month for one of my cats. The other one isnt insured as she has a heart murmur (although no vets have found it since but its on her record as breeder had her spayed because of it).
