My cats about 15/17 years old and in the past few years he has been limping when walking but can usually run okay. Anyway I came down this morning to see him lying down and not looking too perky so I watched him move and he was yelping in pain and is really badly limping. My parents think he has got arthritis but what I can do to help him?

He really doesnt want to move today. My parents did say that he was chasing another cat last night so whether thats got anything to do with it.

One of mine limps he has arthritis,if he does anything silly it gets worse, I have him on a remedy called Vetrinox from America buy it online he has improoved loads on this and is acting like a much younger cat.
If yours is crying in pain he probably does need to see a vet who will probably give metacam which is good for pain relief but not so good long term as can cause kidney, liver damage.

My elderly cat started limping - vet diagnosed arthritis. However, no medication could ease his pain and it got steadily worse until he started lying on his side but with his eyes wide open, staring into another place. His "arthritic" limp deteriorated quite dramatically and his leg appeared to almost bend outwards. In the end he was diagnosed with bone cancer and he was quietly put to sleep at home, in my arms. RIP Spencer - a cat in a million x
