My 6 month old LaPerm kitten loves peeing on hard flooring. Finally shes much better after Ive gone through various litters (and trays etc) and now find she likes a thin layer of silica litter but its awful as doesnt absorb enough pee so theres pee underneath which is gross when shes scratching around and stepping in it. I know theres inner mesh trays you can get which lets clean litter through so you can remove lumps but is there such a thing as one that has a mesh tray thats small enough mesh to NOT let the litter through at all, just lets the pee drain into the tray underneath that I could simply drain out and wash instead?

Have you tried wood pellets as litter? Can be spread thinly, very absorbent.
Yes, I think the type of tray you're thinking of MM is meant to be used with wood pellet or larger litter. I don't think there would be one with a fine enough mesh to catch silica litter and not get clogged up with it.
