My brother recently posted on FB about his recently departed MIL’s cat.

Little Lucy is in Angmering West Sussex.

This is Lucy, she's looking for a new home after her owner passed away. She's 11yrs old and incredibly shy, skittish around strangers and we think possibly traumatised as a kitten as she tends to avoid human contact and spend most of her time outside. However, she can be incredibly loyal and affectionate with the right person. Please share if someone is on the lookout for a slightly feral, mildly traumatised older cat etc.

She’s coming from quite a rural home, which is why my brother and wife can’t take her.IMG_9962.jpeg

She’s gorgeous! I hope she finds a lovely home.

I miss having a cat, but living on a busy road, with Roxie and a toddler is definitely not the right fit for her !

Chimera cat!

Can't help, sorry. Would have given her an outdoor home willingly last year.

Oh bless her ❤️ I live in the next village to Angmering. I have two boy cats and a dog otherwise I’d have her. I can share with friends if you have the FB link?. Worthing Cat Welfare are pretty good if all else fails. Most of Angmering isn’t that rural these days does she need a fully rural setting or just decent gardens to roam in?

Commenting to bump.
I wish I could help, I'm not far away, mum would like another cat, but our garden is small and current one is 24yo so I think if we did introduce one it would need to be older and super chill to give her a fair chance.
Wish you and cat the best of luck finding somewhere.

Madam Chatty Fatty Carrie Catty wishes to remind Lucy that she must keep up her Cat Slave's training. Especially the 4am alarm setting. Don't waver. Start as you mean to go on. If Cat Slave seems a bit slow to wake up, bite the bridge of their nose. That works well, because they'll be so bewildered that they'll think it was part of a nightmare. Be careful not to do the weaving round their ankles Cat Slave- pleasing thing. They're not too steady on their feet - they've only got two, poor darlings - and if they fall over and knock themselves out you'll have to wait even longer. If you don't like the food they provide, do the hind legs/front legs litter covering-over routine. Trust me, they'll buy every version of wet and/or dry food to find what you like best. You can repeat this manoeuvre as often as you like. If you need the next chapter in my forthcoming book "How toTrain Your Human", just tell your Cat Slave to write and let my Cat Slave know. She's coming along quite well, at the moment.
Best wishes, Madam Carrie Cat.

Dearest Carrie Cat. I believe Lucy has been to the same lessons as you! Lucy is currently coming out of hiding to demand fuss from my mum, use the litter tray, eat her food and order a food top up, regardless of time of day or night 😂 Other than that she hides around the house, keeping my mum on her toes (or rather knees) trying to see if she's OK. Doing well for 4 days in. Sorry, no new photos due to her hiding abilities.

She's a bit like a ghost - she comes out and plays with the toys etc when my mum is out or is sat watching telly, and sleeps on the bed, but runs and hides when anyone else comes. So here's a photo of her in her favourite hiding place under the wardrobe.

It's so lovely to hear that she clicked so well with your mum, that she's already out playing with toys when your mum's around.
The photo is of course also lovely, she's such a beautiful cat.
