one of my 1 yr old kittys has small bleedy scabs round the base of her whiskers, just noticed them over last few days-what could they be? thought maybe she'd had her whiskers pulled out fighting etc but there def all intact!! uo to date on frontline etc!

Unless it looks like a straight forward scratch it could be an allergy for example.
One of my boys gets a fat lip and chin, doesn't bother him, vet gave it a name years back when first diagnosed, something to do with allergens, it comes and goes.
Keep a close eye and get the vet to check it out perhaps

Could she have stuck her face where it shouldn't have been? I'm thinking hedgehog. Or if she's a hunter, a shrew? Shrews give a mildly toxic bite. Or even into a fence newly painted in preservative? Years ago, when candlelit dinners were all the rage (think Jurassic Park), my nosy moglet hopped up onto the table to sniff the candle flame! Duh! I swear she walked with her head tipped to one side for weeks because all the whiskers the candle-sniffing side of her face shrivelled right up and disappeared!

I'd watch your little girlie and if it doesn't start to clear up soon or looks as if it's getting worse, vet x
