My daughter has a female black cat and a black kitten that need rehoming asap. She has to move house on tuesday as her current landlord hasn't paid his mortgage. New place says no pets. I have tried local rescues but they are all full. West Yorkshire area.

Any chance your daughter could ask for negotiation on the no pets issue?
Some landlords will agree and simply ask for a higher deposit. She could state that she is advertising(newpapers, freeads, preloved etc) for a new home for the cats but might need a few weeks grace to get the matter sorted. The landlord may be sympathetic.

Agree with Abitodd. I have negotiated on this in the past, as my cats come as a package with me. In my case I offered a separate deposit and just the offer alone meant that they waiver the 'no pets'. I'd also get her to offer to have an inspection every so often, so the landlord can see that they aren't a problem. As a landlord myself I asked for details of pets for prospective tenants and to meet the pet(s) first.

Unfortunately it is non negotiable. She had to find somewhere quickly. She has adverts up on local websites and in the vets but time is ticking away. I cannot take them but am willing to transport them within a reasonable distance. All the rescues I have tried all seem to only help abuse cases or strays.

I live in West Yorkshire and we have never had any trouble finding rented houses that allow cats (we move a lot, OH has itchy feet), the latest one asked for a slightly higher deposit but some haven't even wanted that. I suppose it is a bit late now to find a different house though. Good luck, it isn't easy to find homes for black mogs :(
