I have two 18-month-old, neutered female cats. They are pretty much home birds, don't wander too far from our garden and have never come in with any marks/scratches on them. I shut them in at night and they haven't shown any aggression until now....
Our neighbours got two kittens recently, they are probably about 7-8 months old and quite small. They are going out and starting to explore and my black and white cat has turned into a bit of a bully with them :( She corners them in our garden or our neighbour's and while I haven't seen her batter them, there was a lot of hissing. I am quick to split them up if I am around and neighbour has chased her off.

So my question is, do we just let then sort it out amongst themselves? Or is there anything we can do? Both us and our neighbours have micro chip catflaps so they can all get away from eachother. But I am worried that Pie will hurt the kittens, one of them has already had injuries and was chased off, we don't think it was Pie who did it as it happened overnight when mine were shut in.

Gratuitous pics of my gorgeous girlies, Tawny the beautiful terrified one on the left and Pie the high school bully on the right! :p:

Have you got a water pistol or spray bottle? Squirting the aggressor with water is a good way to break up a cat fight/stand off without any danger to the humans breaking it up. Cats really don't like to be sprayed and this method does put them off a behaviour if they regularly get sprayed when they do it.

Yes, I used this when they were kittens to stop them scratching furniture and jumping on the work surfaces. Will have to practice aiming so I get the right cat! :D
Thanks. Is she just being teritorial? Will they settle down over time? My other cat isn't bothered in the slightest and she is the boss over the black and white one.
