had the farrier out to check my gelding as he has started catching his hind coronary bands after recent shoeing (has not been a problem in the past), he adjusted the shoes but the problem still seems to be there
i can see two white scuff marks about 2" length on inside coronary bands, he's not lame but does seem to be plaiting slightly
do you think his feet havent been levelled properly?
should i put overreach boots on to protect them until he is reshod?
would call out the farrier again but he wasn't that happy at being recalled and horse has quite flat feet so doubt would take any more trimming at present
any advice would be helpful thanks

Sounds like either your horses feet are out of balance or he is experiencing some stiffness/lameness in one leg.

Easiest method is over reach boots. Scuffing his coronet should not make him lame.. its not actually a cut it may bruise though.

Call you damn farrier and if he refuses change farrier.

I think farriers of worth there weight in gold most of the time but they got to be happy to help..

Offer him some petrol money.
