Just looking for opinions really, if a pony had been naughty for you to catch, when you caught it, would you reward him for finally allowing himself to be caught, so that he relates being caught with a positive experience, or would you be more inclined to punish the pony for being naughty?
Just curious on people's opinions and what your approach would be:D

I certainly wouldn't punish him it would just reinforce why being caught was a bad idea.
I would reward with a scratch rather than a treat and also not always take him out of the field when he came to me, that way he doesn't assume he's going to be taken away everytime he comes near.

If you punish it you're stupid, it won't catch the next time!

I usually give a treat and then carry on as normal. I had one who was a night mare to catch, still can be a bit tricky at times, I always give her a treat for catching in, just makes life easier.

Always reward for being caught.
If you have caught him (which is what you want) then what on earth do you expect him to do if you then punish him? Horses live in the moment, you can't punish for what is past.
