Catching 'the bug' . . .

I have been fortunate enough to have been around horses pretty much all of my life so i sometimes forget that some people have never even touched a horse before.This is certainly true of my OH whos experience of being around horses was driving past fields with them in.

This has now all changed since we've been together. He is an absolute star with my boy who is not the easiest of horses to cope with at times, and has definately 'caught the bug'. He will quite happily get stuck in with things and now wants to learn to ride and get another horse so we can ride out together

Has anyone else been in relationships where their OH hadn't had any experience or desire to be around horses before, who have now 'caught the bug' and are just as obsessed as you are . . . .

My OH was quite afraid of horses when I first got my loaner and certainly wasn't really interested in her. He liked H when I got him in December (his is very pretty, mind you!) and although still a bit afraid, would give him a carrot and a scratch now and again.

He has been going up to the yard regularly, getting to know H and now he's talking about having some lessons! It would be lovely to be able to go out together, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
