I buy them in a glove shape, like you'd use in the shower, and use it on a pony who is very head shy and very tetchy about his legs. He also cannot be clipped in these areas and therefore is a mud catcher. Its the only thing we can use to groom him and he just accepts it, its becomes more of a massage than a groom. Very effective too. Good at removing old sweat marks that escaped being washed off , and for removing loose hair. Other than that, I don't know!
