If anybody could PM the dates that either of these will be meeting near Buckland Newton I would be eternally grateful, as my boy decided he was going to wind all the others up today when he heard the horn in the distance. I already have a meet card for BSPV. Thanks in advance!! :grin:

Hello!!! South Dorset person here. Days they are meeting at Buckland are: 16th Dec and they are at Alton Pancras on 23rd Dec. Both good fun days out.

Thank you!! assuming the 16th dec meet is at court farm? May pop down on foot, would love to come mounted but its bad enough having no control out with a hunt you know! (Although theres some nice people with the BSPV who let me use them as brakes )

16th is at Beaulieu Wood in Buckland. I really wouldn't worry about not having any brakes. The last 2 horses I've hunted with the SD have been fairly brakeless but noone seems to care!!

Thats out towards pulham on the mappowder road isn't it? I've decided to have a break this year as have always been around Sherborne, but moved the horses down in march and haven't got a feel for the country yet. Its alot more open than i'm used to and I expect it rides alot faster up on the downland!
TBH I'll probably retire my gelding anyway as its just not fun when he decides to be a prat, but its nice to know whan they're about so i can make sure he does't follow of his own accord!
Roll on 2010 when i can take my baby out cubbing, you can be sure I'll be asking you to nanny me! :grin:

oh would love to in the summer, last time i went out unescorted i ended up in cheselbourne riding said lunatic and leading a relutant mare! (although I have bought mysef a map since then )
