I moved to the field I rent over a month ago and when I walked around it I saw lot's of blackberries growing and thought yay, will be able to pick them and make one of my fave puddings, apple and blackberry crumble. Well as they are ripening, they have been vanishing, I thought had someone been coming in here helping themselves, then I though nah, must be birds. But tonight I caught the culprit red handed, or shall I say red hooves!! My horse has been going round the field snacking on all my blackberries the monkey!!!! :D

My mare loves them but only if she can pick them off the bushes herself doesn't eat asda ones, but come feb last year she had a bald patch on her neck that she kept itching I was treating it with aloe Vera gel, turned out to be an absess and the vet said she got it from a thorn off the berry trees!! Silly tb another vet bill from her feeling hungry in the bushes lol!

Yup, our little Welsh A loves them too. We have a little hack up the hill by the side of the fields, and we stop at the top so whichever of my kids is riding her, picks the top ones, and she helps herself to the ones at muzzle height. Having said that, I normally pick the juiciest ones I can find, to give to her. I can't resist!

I'v got them growing all around my fields! My boys love them! They stand at night waiting for me to pick a handful for each of them to scoff! Although I'm sure they help themselves too!! ;)

My little Shetland loves them too. He's recently discovered how to eat peaches without the stone, he squishes them on the ground and rolls them along until he's hoovered up the nice bits. In fact he's eaten all the fruit off the lower branches of all the trees; apart from the grapes, he's left the fruit and eaten all the leaves ??

I'm another with a horse who loves them, leaves, thorns and all  !! He then loves rubbing all the juce from around his mouth all over his body, especially when I have just bathed him ready for a show......

My wee welshie liked them too...but I am glad that we don't have them at new place. He got a thorn in his eye and ended up with a corneal ulcer and was in vet school on antibiotics 24/7 for 11 days then on box rest at home on 24/7 antibiotics for 5 weeks then anitibiotics reduced to 3x day for another 5 weeks!
