My horse was lame this morning, I called my vet who nerve blocked the foot ,but he was still lame. He wants to have him at the surgery to continue investigations and I am just so worried about what it could be. He has no heat or swelling and he is only young and lightly ridden.

as it isn't in the foot it could come from just about anywhere. Is it in front or behind? No heat or swelling doesn't neccessarily mean there is not damage to a tendon or ligament either so it could be something minor or possibly something more significant. Try not to worry though as it could just be a minor sprain in the field.
