My horse has got awful hooves & to cut a long story short, he's going barefoot to try to improve hoof growth & quality. I'm going to buy him some cavallo boots so that we can carry on riding, but his front hooves are different sizes and since the boots only come in pairs this would mean buying three pairs!
Has anyone else had this problem? I'd be interested to know if anyone has found anywhere where you can buy individual boots (although I very much doubt it - that would be far too easy!) or perhaps if anyone else has a similar problem we could do a boot swap!

I know that my sister had the same problem when she looked into getting boots for her horse, as her front feet are also different sizes.

Its a shame that the easyboots aren't any good for your horse, as they are sold individually :( Sorry - not much help I know...

How about just getting boots for his fronts for the time being, and see how he goes on - I know that is still 2 pairs to buy, but it is less than 3! :)

Thanks for that Flo_Bell, I hadn't though of just getting fronts, but that might be a plan. Just assumed that as he hasn't been barefoot since a very young age, he'd be sore all round. Saying that though, shoes came off yesterday lunchtime and I spied him galloping round the field at teatime not looking in the slightest foot sore or sorry for himself! :D
Perhaps I will buy 2 pairs of fronts and see how we go :)

Thanks Lucy, I've emailed the Cavallo company, but am waiting to hear back, perhaps I'll have to flutter my eyelashes and tell my boy's full sob-story to get anywhere! Will have a look on ebay too :)

No worries - at least it will give you a chance to make sure you are happy with them before getting boots all round :) and if you are happy with them - then you already have another pair for when you have worn the first pair out :D :D
