Hi, iv just bought these for my foot sore TB and they seem a bit clumpy and although they don't rotate on his feet, they just look a little big? I matched him up with the sizing chart they gave which said he would be a size 4. I don't think he would be able to fit into a size 3 given that he is a pretty large horse with average size feet.
Will the pastern wraps make them fit a little but more snuggly?
What are your views on fitting these?

You are meant to measure just after they've been trimmed as the boot will allow for growth between trims.

I didn't do this as I needed them pronto, and ended up with a paid slightly too big, so remeasured after a trim to check.

The sport boots do look more streamlined, but these are ideal for hooves that aren't as wide as long.

They seem to fit, I think that as they are quite clumpy I'm concerned they're going to fall off or something!
Went for a ride in them on Sunday and they seemed fine, he doesn't like wearing his rear ones tho, was like bambi on ice! Haha!

Buy Boa gaitors and scrap the cavallo things, you could also try mens sox. Agree the feet should be newly trimed.
Hind feet will probably be better left to self trim, in fact you can try working towards all round barefoot, I assume he is on a diet, lo sugar hi fibre plus minerals?

Cavallos can appear clumpy - but as they soften they mould to the hoof more. Socks are often better than any brand of gaitor - they shouldn't be too thick.

By socks I take you really mean men's socks??? This is a whole new experience for me. Do you mean that you would always put on socks before the boot or what?? Don't the socks go into holes? Sorry to be thick but I'm not getting it.

Socks are good if your horse doesnt have huge feet! Pop socks also work. You can put a pad in the sole of the boot to tighten them up a bit. As others have said, scrap the Cavallo gaiters - they are useless. The easyboot ones are far better.

I did all the above at first but now I dont need to bother. I do still tend to put a bit of Lanacane Anti Chafe powder on his heels just in case!

You get used to the clumpy look of the Cavallos. I dont notice it now. Mine have never moved even galloping through mud. They are great boots for the money :D
