lots of places to stay in cavan - cavan crystal hotel, raddisson estate (lovely). Its very popular sale for whole of Ireland - never bought there myself but know people who have successfully.
high quality often with a pricetag to match though.
i havent been myself yet but iv always heard good things about it from anyone who has...
depends what type of horse your looking for tho?they tend to mostly focus on showjumpers in cavan..
oh and if the locals arent bidding on a horse there is usually a reason!avoid like the plague theres a lot of people buying there arent into horseriding as a hobby if there not bidding there maybe something seriously wrong...
Horse's sold in Goresbridge and Cavan are vetted before they can be entered..its one of the requirements but id still get it vetted again on site with bloods just to be sure....
Prices for horses have went down in ireland lately so you might find something very nice...good luck!
Its well changed from then..... Its a great venue , the facilites are excellant with its new state of the art indoor arenas, Not to mention The new Bar
Many a deal to be had with a drink in hand
On a more serious note, It is a good sale but like any sale you obviously need to be aware .
Have a look on the website .... http://www.cavanequestrian.com/home.asp
I bought a mare from Cavan & she had vets cert. Went lame after 2 months & turned out she had navicular - quite advanced. You need to be careful - as at any sale. Agree as ^^^ facilities are absolutely fabulous. Also - they do different types of sales ie all irish draughts, all connemaras, all sport horses. Check out their web site
