Not my boy!!! Pics from Folds Farm Cleveland Bay Show and Hampshire Show.

A lovely line up from Fold's Farm with Ixion in first place and part bred mare Bahian Maggie in second place - and nice to see that a stallion and mare can compete in the same class with no hassle.

Ixion at Hampshire Show ridden. THANKS TO FIRST CLASS IMAGES.

Ixion, aka Smokey was first in World Breeds Class in hand, 15 in class.

Ditto he was first in World Breeds Ridden Class 16 in class.

Of course I did not bring my Shagya stallion to the World Breeds Class. (Smiley Face) Perhaps a CB Shagya Challenge Cup next year!!

What a lovely functional boy.
I'm going through a stage of being a bit worried about the prevalence of kissing spines and some unpleasant behaviour in some warmbloods I've met recently. See a horse like this and think, well he clearly hasn't got any problems and would serve most riders far better. Really hope CBs get more into the public eye, great horses.

Two very nice owner riders. Thank you both for your replies.

Bakewell I agree with you, that is why I posted the thread. Really nice horses in need of a bit of good publicity.

Fold's Farm also host a pre Christmas meet for the New Forest pack. A hospitable family who do much in the local area.

Hello Gabrielle,

I think you will find that semen will be available from him in the future. I think he is also a rare band CB so desirable for breeding.

I have been told that so far this year 50% of the pure bred foals have been born overseas, most in the USA - keep it up you guys, we need you.

Hi
Great news. We have many dedicated CB owners in North America. The CB organization over here is independent of the CBHS. Many CBs are registered over there (UK), but many partbreds are not. Some purebreds are not registered at all, but who knows times are changing. Key is open communication with all world wide.

Interesting if 50% born OS, I would think in 40% range which is still a lot as the breed is most popular and originated in the UK. I love my purebreds. Off to ride

If you look in Photo Gallery there are instructions for Photobucket. You need to 'copy' the code for your photo on Photobucket then post it here. Open this Forum and PB at the same time.

Note Photobucket has changed so when you post the code before you confirm it is OK delete the codes before and after "IMG" that should work for you.

I hope it works - it does for me and I am a computer numpty.

Good luck

Oh no, can't you see the picture? I can. :-(.

She's not the best example of her breed, but that's just as well as I'm unlikely to breed from her and it would be a shame to take the best out of the gene pool. I love her, though!

Hi it would be great to see a picture of your mare as I believe she was 2nd at the New Forest county show before so she has been considered decent by experienced unbiased judges. Also it is generally considered that a mare can contribute 60% or more to the conformation of a foal. Ixion was a very popular and much admired horse at the recent New Forest Show and was being compared to a whole host of different breeds and came up trumps in more than one class under different judges, he was an excellent ambassador for the Cleveland Bay breed

As a point of correction I'm sorry to say the pure cb mare named as second in the line up at the start of this thread was infact third and another mare Bahian Alice a partbred was second

Pommie, Thank you for the correction and apologies to owner of Bahian Alice, I thought I had got it right. A good result for Bahian Cleveland Bays.

Folks, I don't know why you can't see the photo - I can view it even if I'm not signed in! I don't know what else to do. Can you access my album? I've made it public, and it's only got the one picture in it!
