Found a vid Mum took of me sj my horse. We event - she is fab at dressage and xc but we always have poles down sj! I know that my biggest problem is keeping a good canter as she is very long in the back and that i tend to see a deep shot and she likes to jump of a longer one. She relies on me quite a bit to see a stride which i find weird as she is so bold xc and hardly needs me at all!!

Anyway please don't be too hard on me but if anyone can give me helpful advice it will be appreciated. Thanks

Wow what a lovely horse :) When you get it right brilliant, if you get a bad stride every now and again have you thought going back to basics and using a placing pole? I went through a faze about a year ago where I kept taking off about a stride away from the fence, everytime I jumped I used a placing pole and I really improved.

Another good idea to keep your horse's mind active and to build her up is to do lots of grid work :)

ive got no idea why you think your not very good those jumps look pretty good and the horse is jumping very nicely!

That's a good idea thanks! I tend not to jump her that much at home only when I have lessons etc so maybe i should do some grid work with her at home. She knows her job so well tho and can get a bit flat if i jump her to much but i need to keep my eye in so its a bit tricky to get the balance right!!

Thanks, I don't think we are bad, but I know we can be better!! We always have poles down at events which is so frustrating as it puts us out of the placings!

I never jumped at home unless I had problems competing but with my youngster he needs to be jumped once a week or he just is rubbish. You two make a lovely pair, best of luck with your future :)

Agree with comments lovely horse and your a fab rider, she makes those fences look easy. :D. My last boy was not very careful when I got him and could have the odd pole. I did lots and lots of grid work got him sitting on his hocks and he stopped having them down, but if I let him get flat then he would.

Thanks everyone, you've given me a confidence boost! :D My girly really is fab and she has taught me everything so i owe her a lot. I get frustrated with my SJ as we are so close to getting it spot on but then I make the odd silly mistake every now and again and let her down.
